NAKED CART

Naked Cart

Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Naked Cart handles information when you use the Naked Cart mobile app and nakedcart.app. It describes the current testing release, including its language settings and optional early visits to retailers.

1. About Naked Cart

Naked Cart is a mindful-shopping app. You can browse products, save items, build a virtual cart, complete simulated checkouts, organize items in Closet, and revisit your choices after a seven-day cooling period. You can also choose to visit a retailer earlier after a confirmation.

Naked Cart does not process retail orders, collect card or bank details, or arrange shipping through its simulated checkout. Contact for the app and this policy: hello@nakedcart.app.

2. Information stored on your device

The app uses local app storage for the information needed to provide its features. This can include:

  • Your cart, selected product options and quantities, saved products, and the times items were saved.
  • Simulated orders, Closet items, Reality Check dates and responses, reminder identifiers, and totals described as savings or money unspent.
  • Onboarding status, your selected language, outfit selections, and any locally saved avatar or look images and generation-allowance records.
  • Pseudonymous analytics identifiers and technical app state.

These records are not automatically synchronized to a Naked Cart user account. However, information about selected actions and products can be sent as analytics as explained below. Local records may also be included in a backup managed by your operating system or backup provider.

3. Language settings and notifications

The app reads the device's language and locale settings to select an available interface language and format dates and numbers. A manual language preference is saved locally.

If you grant notification permission, the app schedules Reality Check reminders on your device. You can change notification permission in your phone settings. The current reminder feature does not require registration for a remote push-notification service.

4. Analytics and technical information

Naked Cart integrates PostHog to understand feature use, investigate problems, and improve the app. Analytics is active in builds configured with the analytics service. Events can be associated with pseudonymous installation or session identifiers; pseudonymous does not mean that the information is completely anonymous.

  • Product views, taps, saves, additions to a cart, and visits to retailer or affiliate links, including whether the cooling period was skipped.
  • Product identifiers, names, brands, retailers, categories, prices, currencies, and related options or quantities.
  • Simulated order identifiers, totals and item counts, Reality Check outcomes, and time elapsed during a cooling period.
  • App activity and technical context such as timestamps, app and operating-system versions, device type, locale, and SDK or session identifiers.

Connecting to the website, product feed, analytics service, or image hosts also exposes network information such as an IP address and basic request details to the service receiving the request. Providers may process IP-derived approximate location according to their configuration. The app does not request GPS or precise device location.

Naked Cart does not use app analytics to track you for advertising across other companies' apps or websites. The current app does not provide an in-app analytics on/off switch. Stopping use or uninstalling stops further analytics from that installation while it is not running; resetting local shopping records does not delete events already sent.

5. Product images and Avatar Studio

Product information comes from Naked Cart's online product service. Loading product images may contact a retailer or an image-hosting provider, which receives network request information even if you have not opened a retailer's shopping page.

In the current Android production build, Avatar Studio can organize product selections locally, but AI image generation is unavailable. This build does not offer a personal-photo upload, and its AI generation controls do not send a photo or avatar for generation. Saved looks from development use, if present, are stored locally.

If we enable photo uploads or external AI generation in a future release, we will update the relevant disclosures and provide any required notice or consent before that processing starts.

6. Retailers and affiliate links

When you choose to open a retailer link, the retailer or an affiliate network may receive information through the link and its redirects. This can include the selected product, referral identifiers, request information, and cookies or similar identifiers used for attribution. Naked Cart may earn a commission from a qualifying visit or purchase.

Retailers and affiliate networks are independent services with their own privacy policies. Their checkout, payments, shipping, cookies, and data practices are governed by their policies. Opening a retailer early does not turn the simulated Naked Cart checkout into a real order.

7. Information you send us

If you email us, request beta access, discuss a partnership, or send feedback, we receive your email address, any name you provide, and the contents and attachments of your message. We use that information to respond, provide support, and manage the request. Please do not send payment-card details or information that is unnecessary for your request.

8. How information is used and shared

We use information to provide the app and website, show products, maintain local shopping and reminder features, understand usage, respond to requests, and protect the services. We do not sell personal information to advertisers.

  • PostHog processes usage analytics. Its privacy information is available at https://posthog.com/privacy.
  • Netlify hosts the website and online services and may process network, operational, and security logs. Its privacy information is available at https://www.netlify.com/privacy/.
  • Retailers, affiliate networks, and image hosts receive information as described above. Email providers process communications you send us.
  • We may disclose information where legally required or reasonably necessary to address fraud, security incidents, or the protection of legal rights.

Service providers process information to supply their services under their applicable terms and data-protection arrangements. Some providers process information outside your country, including in the United States. The privacy rules in those countries may differ from those where you live.

9. Retention and security

Local app records remain until removed through the relevant app control, through device settings, or by deleting the app and its data. A device or cloud backup may retain a separate copy and may restore it later.

Analytics and operational records are retained for as long as needed for service operation, product improvement, security, and applicable legal obligations, then deleted or de-identified when no longer needed. Support correspondence is retained while needed to handle the request and for related records or legal obligations. This policy does not promise a fixed automatic deletion interval for provider-held records.

The app uses HTTPS for its online service requests and relies on the operating system's app-storage protections for local data. No network or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

10. Your choices and deletion

You can manage your information in the following ways:

  • Use the app's Reset Naked Cart control in the Me tab to clear the cart, saved items, simulated orders, Reality Check history, and money-unspent totals. This reset does not clear every setting, saved image, analytics identifier, or server-held record.
  • Delete individual saved looks using their delete control, where available. To remove all local app data on Android, open Settings > Apps > Naked Cart > Storage and choose Clear storage or Clear data. On iOS, delete the app and its data rather than offloading it. Backups are managed separately through your device or backup provider.
  • Change the interface language in the app's language picker and manage notification permission through your phone settings.
  • To request access, correction, or deletion of information held by Naked Cart, email hello@nakedcart.app with the subject Privacy request. You do not need to reinstall the app or create an account to contact us.

Explain the type of information or activity involved and an approximate date. Because the app does not link an account or email address to its pseudonymous analytics identifiers, an email address alone may not let us locate analytics events. We may ask for limited additional information to find the records and verify the request. We cannot remotely erase records stored only on your device.

Depending on the law where you live, you may also have rights to object to processing, restrict processing, withdraw consent where processing relies on it, receive a copy of your information, or complain to a data-protection authority. We respond to applicable requests within the periods required by law. Information may be retained where legally required; deleting local data or uninstalling does not itself delete information held by service providers or retailers.

11. Children

Naked Cart is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect children's personal information where parental consent would be required by applicable law. If you believe a child has provided such information, contact hello@nakedcart.app so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

12. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as features or data practices change. The current version will appear here with its updated date. Material changes will be accompanied by any additional notice or choice required by applicable law.

For privacy questions or requests, contact Naked Cart at hello@nakedcart.app.
